ContractorCheck (“we”, “us”) operates the ContractorCheck service at contractorcheck.app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address via Clerk, our authentication provider. When you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe collects and processes your payment information — ContractorCheck never sees or stores your card details. When you run an assessment, we store the questionnaire answers you provide and the resulting risk scores in our database so you can view them later in your dashboard.
How we use it
We use your email to send transactional messages (account confirmation, billing receipts). We use your assessment data exclusively to generate and display your contractor risk results. We do not sell your data to third parties, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone outside the service providers listed below.
Service providers
ContractorCheck uses the following sub-processors to operate the service: Clerk (authentication and user management), Stripe (payment processing and subscription billing), Neon (database hosting), and Vercel (application hosting and analytics). Each processes data only as needed to deliver the service and under contractual data-protection obligations.
Data retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and contractor assessment data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for fraud-prevention purposes.
Security
All data is transmitted over TLS. Database access is restricted to application-layer credentials. We do not log or store raw questionnaire answers in plaintext beyond what is necessary to render your dashboard.
Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account at any time by emailing hello@contractorcheck.app. We will respond within 30 days.
